The event was being organized by various organizations which are Youth Opportunity Funds, Hull Children's Fund, Hull City Council, Kingston Youth Center, and Hull Anatolian Society. The Event was taken place on the 25 April with various activities such as stalls inside St Stephens, a parade through St Stephens to Albamarle Music Center where the performance started took place, workshops and stage performances.

 There has been over 450 people that attended as well as the Hull Lord Mayor and ex football player Johnny Whitely.  Also 12 other organizationstook place with their performances.

The Ramadan Iftar meal, which was organized by Education and Dialog Charity (EDC) and Hull Anatolian Society, took place at The Royal Hotel on Wednesday the 17th of September. It brought different organization and societies together. The event has been honored by The Lord Mayor Cllr Elaine Garland, Humberside Police department, voluntary organizations, faith representers, academics and businessmen.

Traditional Turkish porcelain plates have been presented to Jane Thompson, representative of Hull  CVS by Lord Mayor, to Sarah Kimemia, Children’s Fund, by HAS General Secretary Mrs Ayse Ozkurt and to Nigel Mills, Hull Investment Fund by EDC Chairman Mrs Asuman Aydin. The award for Mr David Randolph(Revd) from Leeds Church Institute and John Carter (Revd)
Press and Communications Officer Diocese of Ripon and Leeds could not be presented as he sent his apologies. The event has been a great opportunity for everyone to meet other people from other organisation. All participants have expressed their gratification.

 

 

Lord Mayor visited HAS Committee Members House | 12 December 2008

Lord Mayor has met HAS board members, committee members and trustees. The mayor has hounoured us with a christmas card and a box of choclate for the children. She couldn’t get over the Turkish Breakfast we had altogether and the Turkish tea. She wanted the choclate cakes /Turkish style cheesy vegi filloy pie’s receipe. HAS has power pointed about the Hull Anatolian Community centre, all the activities that are happening, and going to take place in the future .This showed who we all about .Committee members have also stated that we want to work with other organisations /groups in Hull and do more culturel activities together.

Lord Mayor visited the Education Dialogue Charity members at Hull Anatolian Society Community Centre at 183 Beverley Rd. The Mayor has honoured us with her visit to our centre and wanted to meet comminity members individually. She was interested in what we do at the centre. She told about her background and how she became a Mayor. Our members have introduced themselves. Lord Mayor asked couple of questions to the community members including; how long they have been here, what they do for living. Hull Children Parliament | 03 July 2008

The first session was asking questions to young people about the history of Hull, and some presents were given to those who have answered them correctly. 2 girls have performed short plays about the problems young people face, for example; drinking, racism and not wanting to go to school, etc.. Then we were grouped to produce some questions to be asked in the panel, our question was to have halal food provided in our schools. Hull Anatolian Society and Education Dialogue Charity to take part cultural activities organized by YOF and Children Fund in The Albemarle Music Centre Hull.There were about ten different groups from different cultures and nations they all performed their own cultural dance and music. The nations that joined were Turkish, Polish, Zambian, English, and Bosnian….

 
Blessed Birth Day of Prophet Muhammed (PbuH) | 27 April 2008

The birth of the Prophet Mohammed (PbuH) was celebrated in an event in Hull Community Centre on 27th of April, Sunday. The event started with the recitations of Quran, followed by a video presentation about the message of the Prophet. Poems read by Mr. Ihsan Can and hadith were read, hymns commemorating the Prophet Mohammed were sung by the children.

 
Tree Planting Event In Hull | 7 April 2008

We have organized Annual Tree Planting event for the name of Hz. Muhammed in Hull with contributions of Ilhan Coskun from Hull Anatolia Society, Mrs. Asuman Aydin from Education Dialogue Charity and Hull Urban Officer Mr. Tim Beckley. There were 40 people including children, adults and elders who listened to the circle topic a week ago; According to Rasulullah (sav) the importance of planting tree. On the 26th February 2008 four children and one adult from EDC was invited to the Children’s Parliament to discuss Health and Safety and how to change Hull. Education and Dialogue charity members are joined Christian-muslin Forum organization between 18th January-20th January.  Christian and Muslim ladies spend all weekend together.  We have exchanged views and talked about our faiths and grown towards each other.

Whispers of Love, Whirling Dervishes event took place at the Montgomery Theatre, Sheffield on the 27th of November 2007. The Whispers of Love event emphasised the renowned Rumi way of love, understanding and universal peace; values which stem from the very heart of Islam but which have sadly been eclipsed in recent times. The event comprised stories and poems from Rumi, live performance of Sufi Music and Whirling Dervishes, a demonstration on traditional Turkish Marbling and a book exhibition on Rumi, Anatolian Sufi tradition and marbling.

Muslims and Christians celebrated the landing of Noah's ark by organising the Noah’ Pudding Day in the Monton Methodist Church, Salford, Greater Manchester on 18 March 2007. Volunteer families prepared a sweet dish called Ashura (Noah's Pudding). The 'Ashura' Day was celebrated with the presentations and talks emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue.

Mother’s Day on Sunday, 18 March. Mother’s Day Celebrations took place in Anatolian Education and Culture Centre in the Sheffield branch of our charity. The organization was prepared and presented by Turkish women. A considerable amount of guest joined the program with their children. Popular poems and songs were presented by children and a highly emotional atmosphere was observed in the hall. There were also some skill competitions for mothers. At the end of the program, the charity volunteers delivered roses to all participants.

Ashura celebrations were took place in our community centre on 25th February 2007 in Sheffield. The program had different activities such as, Ashura cooking competition, testing delicious Turkish foods, traditional music concert and Speeches on Ashura. The famous Turkish football player Emre Belozoglu playing in United New Castle also joined the event. Enthusiasm in the centre overflowed outside that about 300 hundred people celebrated the day of Ashura.
